According to research, 20 percent of people who experience a traumatic event will develop PTSD. About 8 million people have PTSD in a given year.
WHAT DOES PTSD STAND FOR?
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder- which is a mental health condition that is triggered by terrifying events.

WHAT ARE SYMPTOMS OF PTSD?
*Avoidance- There are times when a person may not feel comfortable talking about their situation and or they may avoid places that potentially remind them of the trauma.
*Negative changes in mood- Some people with experience the feeling of hopelessness and struggle with maintaining close relationships, due to closing off on emotions.
*Emotional reaction- Others may experience restlessness at night, the feeling of always being in danger and or easily startled.
Each symptom listed are only a few, however, if experiencing these symptoms, counseling is always recommended.
