SOCIAL ISOLATION

Social isolation can be a form of depression.

Risk of Social Isolation: – Physical inactivity – Obesity -Smoking According to research, Social isolation was associated with about a 50% percent increased risk of dementia.

WHAT WOULD BE CONSIDERED SOCIAL ISOLATION? Social Isolation can vary however, it is most common with staying home for a long period of time, having no communication with friends and or family, willingly avoiding friends/ family.

Anyone who may struggle with this, it is important to periodically get assessed. Some may like to be alone which there is no problem in that. If drastic changes in your mood, and or energy is occurring, it’s always good to be aware.
